Sleeps 29 people with three separate rooms in bunk beds. Various male/female ratios are possible. Please contact the Site Director for additional layout information. Elm has a nearby detached bathhouse.

The Retreat Cabins at Camp Penn offer an opportunity for smaller retreats than the lodges. We offer four retreat cabins that can be reserved individually, or as a group. These cabins sleep 4-8 depending on the layout and include gathering spaces, private bedrooms that sleep 1-4 depending on the cabin, and one bathroom per cabin. The “Dean’s Lodge” retreat cabin also includes a small kitchenette with a sink, refrigerator, and microwave.

The INDOOR CHAPEL accommodates a maximum of 200 people and is a great place to have a wedding. The interior is a rustic, exposed beam décor with knotty pine wainscoting. An electric organ is available.

The BOWEN PAVILION can accommodate 75 people and comes with convertible picnic table/benches, electricity, lights, and a pull down screen. A gas grill can be provided for a fee. Basketball courts, sand volleyball, horseshoe pit, and bathrooms are nearby.

The RECREATION HALL accommodates 125 people. There is a raised stage and various rectangular tables available. The building has a studio piano and contains a pull down screen and a TV, DVD/VCR player, and digital projector.

BEECH houses the Wild Neighbors Nature Center. The nature center is available to reserve by the hour with an instructor or as a meeting space for 25 with padded chairs, rectangular tables, and A/V equipment.

Guided nature hikes on the Camp Penn nature trail are also available starting at the nature center.

The CANTEEN is an indoor game room with 2 ping pong tables, a pool table, foosball, and miscellaneous board games.

Other camp facilities include a large fire pit with benches to seat 75, outdoor chapel with benches to seat 100, an archery range, craft shop that can be reserved with an instructor, and easy access to the Appalachian Trail.

Camp Penn is a great place to have a wedding.

The Knaub Memorial (Indoor) Chapel has a capacity of 200 people. The rustic chapel has a knotty pine finish around the chancel, an electric organ, and digital projector and screen.

The outdoor chapel features a natural setting with a running creek, stone altar, and bench seating for 100.

All wedding rentals include a nearby building for the wedding party and time for decoration and rehearsal the day before the event.

Wedding receptions may be held at Camp Penn in the Bowen Pavilion, the Dining Hall, or out in the Commons. Camp Penn abides by the Social Principles of the UMC and has a no alcohol policy except when in direct use for a religious ceremony.

Camp Penn is a seasonal facility available between mid-April and late October. Buildings are unheated and may retain cooler temperatures in the Spring and Fall.
